Rotatrix

Rotatrix in action

Rotatrix is a 3-axis trackball that merges ordinary 2D pointing with 3D control. It’s prototyped as a custom hardware mod on a Kensington SlimBlade Pro that captures full ball rotation (XY plus twist). Custom software uses application context, keyboard keys and device buttons to map the ball to different behavior, including regular mouse motion and 3D interactions.

One device for mouse and 3D input. No hand switching.

Currently in early access. Project site: rotatrix.com
